Neighbors for a Safer Imperial County is a citizen-led effort supporting Measure S, the Imperial County Public Safety Sales and Use Tax Measure on the November 3, 2026 ballot.
Measure S would provide vitally needed, locally controlled funding for public safety and emergency services throughout Imperial County. All funds would stay local to benefit Imperial County residents, businesses and communities.

Measure S proposes a 1/2 cent countywide sales tax for public safety and emergency services in Imperial County. ALL funds generated would be deposited into a dedicated Public Safety Fund with limited authorized uses and strict accountability controls.

Imperial County faces serious public safety challenges, from deteriorated fire stations and aging emergency equipment to outdated communications technology and 911 dispatch systems. Measure S would provide locally controlled funding to improve 911 emergency response, upgrade public safety facilities and lifesaving equipment, modernize communications technology, and strengthen emergency response throughout Imperial County.
